I Forgive Myself

A poem

Photo by Wesley Tingey on Unsplash

I’ve danced with my demons

Been swept away in dark dungeons

Screamed in pleasure at another’s pain

Chased down the monsters and dared them to make me dream

Became a monster myself because it was such a need.

I forgive myself

Even if they never will.
